Forestville Park Family Challenge

The Forestville Park Mixed Challenge pitted families against families and old against young. It started in the heat of the day and ended in a thunderstorm, but the day was an outstanding success, with winners of the day being: Angela Bray, who squeaked out Jadon Wilson in Pool A and Jens Parslov in Pool B who was 10 points clear of his nearest opposition, Matt Ferguson and Benjamin Wilson. The adults tried hard to keep up with the juniors with Ian Bray and Hanne Breddam being the best of the more senior club members!

Forestville in narrow loss against Belrose!

10 men and 6 women represented the club against Belrose in our second challenge for the year. Belrose emerged victors for the first time since the competition began by 12 sets to 11 with the games dead even at 128 games apiece. To illustrate just how close the result; there were 9 drawn matches out of 32; & one more game in any one of those matches would have changed the result. Congratulations to David Wright who won all 4 of his matches. A special mention to Les Williams who played an extra match when big Hugh went down like a shot bird half-way through his 3rd set. And a big well done to those members who played in this event for the first time. Once again Belrose were exemplary hosts and Brian Cavill's organisation was outstanding.

Ladies Club Championships!

The Open Ladies Singles & Doubles have been run & won. In the Open Ladies Singles Nicola Bray successfully defended her title against Kim Wilson with a 6/1, 6/2 victory. The Open Ladies Doubles was a close fought affair with Nicola & Sharen Kleinkopf sneaking home 6/1, 7/5 against Kim & Lesley Digby.
